Berks & Bucks FA partner with Tackle This Together

Tackle This Together are pleased to announce a partnership with Berks & Bucks County Football Association
This is a very exciting partnership due to the impressive mental health initiatives that Berks & Bucks FA are already implementing for the football clubs that are affiliated with their association. Already this year they have launched their ‘Mental Health Ambassadors’ programme that has brought together numerous clubs who are looking to champion mental health within their community. And only last week at The Football Association County FA Recognition Awards they were recognised as Partnership Of The Year for their work with Sport In Mind

Over the coming months our partnership will offer affiliated Berks & Bucks football clubs the opportunity to participate in the Tackle This Together courses; Mental Health Awareness and Mental Health First Aid. We will also be working together to run workshops and activations within their association to support football clubs who are looking to implement more mental health  awareness, education, support and conversation within their community.

To launch the partnership all Berks & Bucks affiliated clubs will be invited to attend our Mental Health Awareness courses that are running in January, with a 50% discount applied to the cost of the course

Our mental health awareness course is ideal for managers and coaches and is designed for participants who work with adult and youth age groups and wish to be trained and aware of mental health and wellbeing when working with their players and footballing community.

We all have mental health, just as we all have physical health. Mental ill health can strike at any time and can affect anyone. The only effective, sustainable approach to wellbeing involves the whole community.

Although things are improving, stigma still exists around mental ill health. As a society, we don’t tend to know how to take care of our mental health like we do our physical health. This means that people may not know how to support a friend, family member or colleague experiencing a mental health issue, or where to go for help with their own mental health. Our mission is built on our four key pillars; to raise awareness, increase the conversation, deliver education and provide support for mental health and wellbeing within grassroots football and sport.

We aim to assist all 17,000 grassroots clubs in implementing at least one Mental Health First Aider or Mental health Aware trained coaches into their community. As well as creating important conversations, our Tackle This Together platform allows clubs to book and participate in Mental Health First Aid courses with ease.

After completing the course, Tackle This Together provides ongoing assistance to each Mental Health First Aider within each club, including content, resources, programs, and support.

Our unique approach makes Tackle This Together the trusted mental wellbeing advisor for each club. With Mental Health First Aiders present within clubs, there will be ongoing support to players, coaches, officials, and the wider club communities. Our platform prioritises mental health and wellbeing within grassroots communities, ensuring individuals have access to the necessary support and resources for positive mental health outcomes.
